Laura Molloy - Owner & Baby Swimming Expert

Background:
Eight years ago Laura set up Swimbabes, a company totally dedicated to helping babies swim. Now, Swimbabes offer baby swimming lessons in 13 venues in the North of England and employs 15 staff. Her postitive experiences taking her son, Joshua, to baby swimming lessons in Manchester, promted her to set up Swimbabes in 2001.

Laura Says...
“Giving up a job that I had done for years was scary but I knew I needed to make big changes in my life. After having Joshua I felt like I changed overnight. I wanted to be there for him all of the time and do all that I could to help him. Swimming had been so rewarding for Joshua but it was something that I had relished too. I decided to challenge myself and set up my own business, and I am so glad I did.”

Background:
Georg set up Swimbabes, with his wife Laura, eight years ago. He teaches hundreds of babies to swim each year at swimming pools in Sheffield, Chesterfield and Huddersfield. Swimbabes teach 1,500 babies to swim each week and George is the only male baby swim instructor at Swimbabes.

“Swimming is an essential life skill. In 2005 ROSPA confirmed there were 681 water related accidents in the UK. This is a staggering number when you consider that swimming is part of the National Curriculum. Knowing how to swim can save your life but the other benefits are clear too; it aids physical, social and emotional development for babies and parents alike.”
