Fun in the Sun
KEEP SUMMER SUN AND SPLASHING FUN SAFE
More children drown on holiday than at home, especially
in the first few days. We urge parents to think carefully and keep
a watchful eye over their children whilst near any water, and prepare
properly before going on holiday. Here are some helpful tips:
BEFORE YOU GO
• Make sure you have all your holiday essentials. Sunglasses
such as our Babybanz and Kidzbanz protect their eyes from the sun.
Hats and Sunsuits protect their delicate skin from the suns harmful
rays. For a range of products and further ideas visit our sun
protection section
• The water abroad is often unheated so little ones can easily
get cold, why not try our Wetsuits to extend the time they can spend
in the water. To view the various styles on offer, see our full
product range
• Poolsides and beaches can be rough on little feet. Visit our
Surfs Up section to view our full range of Beach
Shoes
• Swim
Nappies are an absolute essential and prevent all those embarrassing
leaks. Order one today and don’t get caught out!
• For older children why not bring Goggles or Snorkels so they
can have fun underwater and maybe see fish in the sea. Check
out our selection
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
• Get hold of local emergency information just in case anything
should happen
• Find out if any pools or beaches you visit are supervised
by lifeguards
• Make sure you understand any flags or signs being shown at
the beach or pool
• Make sure you check the depths in the pool
DURING YOUR STAY
• Use plenty of high factor Sun Cream (25+) to protect their
skin both in and out of the water. Splish Splash Splosh recommends
an Organic
Sun Screen, ideal for use by those who just love running in and
out of the water!
• Remember to reapply the Sun Cream when they get out of the
water
• Take plenty of drinks especially in hot weather
• Always supervise your children when they are near water
• For long days at the beach Sun Tents can provide that welcome
bit of cool shade whilst offering full factor 50+ protection from
the sun. Check out our Family
Sized Tent and our fabulous NEW
Play Tent
• Try using floatation aids to help your child but remember
they are not drown proof, children still need to be properly supervised
when using them. For babies try Swimseats, for toddlers and children
try Float Bands, Floatsuits or Fun Character Floats which help them
learn to swim. See
